Women in Timber Ghana is non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women along the Timber value chain. We champion gender equality, promote sustainable forest management, and create opportunities for women to thrive in their business.

To serve an an active platform for building capacities of women in Timber in Ghana to towards realizing the economic and social viabilities of their businesses

Vision

To become a vibrant women group to champion women empowerment in the Timber industry.

Core Objectives

To promote the business interest of members of the association
To utilize the platform as a means to address resources challenges of the forest sectors
To join forces with individuals or organizations to tackle resources issues such as reforestation of degraded portions of the forest for future supply of raw materials and the fight against climate change
To create awareness on the effects of deforestation on the depletion of our natural resources
To use the platform to help address the unemployment and underemployment status of women and the youth in the country
To encourage, promote and enhance productivity amongst members of the Association and to sensitize members towards their self development and organizational efficiency
To identify and promote alternative income sources for women in the Timber value chain and Timber related industry
To establish and operate a Women in Timber – credit union as a channel to offer financial support to members
To promote development of capacities of members in critical areas like health and safety, good management practices, investment opportunities among others
To promote the advancement of the association and other bodies in the forest industry through education, efficiency in business management, technical and technological skills development.

Our Story

Women in Timber Ghana was founded to address the underrepresentation and challenges faced by women in the timber and forestry sector. Over the years, the organization has grown into a strong voice advocating for environmental sustainability, gender equality, and community empowerment.
Through strategic partnerships, we continue to expand our reach and implement impactful programs across Ghana.
